Lobitos, like the rest of the Peruvian coast, faces west and so that equates to killer sunsets pretty much on a daily basis. Below are a few pictures taken from La Punta (the point) looking out to the Pacific.

Each day at 1.30pm we head over to Senorita Ceilia for lunch. She serves up traditional Peruvian dishes which usually consist of meat (chicken, pork etc), rice, beans and salad, so far they have been really tasty and much welcomed after a hard morning teaching the kids English and a few hours in the water surfing.

Had some nice waves up here in Mancora over the past few days. There is a point break just in front of our hostel. I’ve been riding a longboard and been practice my board walking and a little noseriding.
The reef is super shallow in parts, 1 ft and you’ve got to be pretty careful, already got a nice collection of cuts and scrapes on my feet, arms and back!
Nice sunset tonight, didn’t quite get to the camera in time as I was in the water, but you get the idea.
The local surfers are all over the point, but a friendly with smiles all round!

After just under two weeks of being in Peru’s highlands we are off to the coast later on this evening. We’re taking an overnight bus to Trujillo and then a quick taxi to nearby Huanchaco where we will be chilling out for the next 3 or 4 days at the Naylamp Hostel. It’s gonna be great to get back to basics: get up, eat, surf, sleep, repeat!
There’s a nice tasty swell is awaiting us (see below), expect to see some footage and gps wave tracking over the next few days!

A big thank you to all those who have put their hands in their pockets and shown their support for Waves For Development. I’ve managed to raise $535.00 so far, and am well on my way to reaching my $750.00 goal.
For those who haven’t stepped up yet, please do consider making a donation and helping support a very worthy cause! Please note that you will have to use a credit card rather than a debit card if you are donating from outside the USA.
For a limited period, the guys over at Wavetracks GPS are giving away a free copy of their iPhone app. You can track your surfing in return for providing them with some helpful feedback. All you need to do is download the Wavetracks GPS test pilot form (MS Word) and email it back to them.
So what are you waiting for!
Here’s a sequence of shots taken from my Go Pro Surf Hero camera that captured a little wipeout I had whilst in Newquay surfing with my mates!

Catching some waves on a recent trip down to Devon. When it’s THIS small you’ve just got to make the best of it and have a laugh!
