A little more off piste action today in Morzine and Avoriaz. Simon gets stoked on some freshies!
After the past few days of poor visibility (albeit great snow) we finally lucked out and got some blue sky action. No low hanging fruits here, just sitting on top of the world!

It can’t always go to plan, and on this particular off piste tree run it kinda all went wrong, enjoy (and watch out for the bad language)!
Whilst out today in the Morzine backcountry powder, we found this natural bowl-like feature and Simon and the guys got involved with some hang time!
Good times had today doing some backcountry tracks here in Morzine, France. Loads of snow, loads of powder and rewarded with a few brews afterwards, the way it should be!

The view from the chalet this morning. A little overcast I’ll admit, but there’s no chance of not having enough snow!

Just like surfing, skiing is always about the report! What will the conditions be like? Well, I didn’t have to look too far. Here’s a pic straight from the horse’s (in this case Simon) mouth. A little cloudy today, but I’d safely say there is enough of the white stuff to keep us happy!

A few week’s back I discovered my friend Simon had gone out to do a season in the French Alps in the resort of Morzine. So like all good friends, what did I do? I invited myself out to go and hang out for a few days :)
Luckily Simon (and the friends he is staying with) are very kind and said yes to my plea. So I full of stoke, I booked my flights, sorted out transfers and did a little shopping yesterday for some new kit (helmet, goggles and ski pants).
I’m taking 3 different GoPro mounts, plus the Canon 550D, so here’s hoping we get some decent footage.
Next update will be from Morzine tomorrow.
Laters…

Just watched Seaworthy, a surf movie by independent film maker, Nathan Oldfield. Beautifully shot, with a chilled out soundtrack and a moving story as the centrepiece for the film. Check out the trailer below!
Thanks Brad for buying this for me for Christmas.

I’ve just (nearly) finished reading this. A book that was given to me by some friends (thanks Mike and Renee) whilst I was hanging out and surfing in San Clemente, USA. The book is all about thoughts/reflections on spirituality. When I first picked it up I was a little bit sceptical, but with an open mind I started to read through it.
Now I’m not going to suddenly run off and join a church or announce my undying love for god. But the book does examine some interesting topics. Anyway, the outcome is that I thought I would start dropping a few pennies each day into Mr. Pig (just small change etc.). The idea being that when he is full I empty him and give whatever is inside to charities/causes I support.
Anyway, I’m not going to get all self-richeous and start preaching, but if anyone reads this and decides it might ebe a nice thing to help people less fortunate than themselves, then that is a good thing.
Pass on the stoke.
