With the next big swell not arriving until later this week (although there are always waves in Lobitos) it seemed only right to share a few more pics from the last one!
We organised a little football tournament between the WAVES crew and the Lobitos locals with a grand prize of 40 Soles going to the winning team! The comp was held on the beach and everyone involved had a great time. Check out a few pics below!

This afternoon we got the kids involved with decorating the surf shack. We mixed up cement and then had the kids fix shells on to the outer side of the shack. Everyone wanted a team photo!

A sizable swell has been running for the past few days and has been generating some pretty hollow waves. The local surfers have been ripping in the overhead surf getting barrels left, right and centre. Check the pictures below to get an idea of an average afternoon session in Lobitos, Peru!
Today we had a board repair class with the local kids. They come along to the WAVES shack (chosa) and learn how to repair their own boards with resident instructor and shaper Holggers.
Lobitos, like the rest of the Peruvian coast, faces west and so that equates to killer sunsets pretty much on a daily basis. Below are a few pictures taken from La Punta (the point) looking out to the Pacific.
