My uncle John lived close to the small town of Albatera in the region of Valencia. It is dominated by agriculture and backed to the west by mountains.

I'd wanted to explore the nearby hills and had heard of the area of Hondon. So in-between sorting out my uncle's possessions, we took a trip out one evening in the car. As we drove up into the hills I had a feeling we might get lucky and score a nice sunset. When we arrived at the top I took out the drone and managed to capture this beautiful view of the sun setting over the Hondon Valley.

I like to think that maybe my Uncle’s soul is up there looking down at us peacefully, somewhere amongst those beams of light behind the clouds.

I'd been waiting for an opportunity to get a shot of it for a few weeks. So one evening, noticing out the office window that the sunset was pretty special, I rushed up to the roof and captured this aerial photo of it set against the illuminated backdrop of Barcelona.
